Royal Dragoons Guild Rules

 |
Rules |
 |
Recruits
and how to join:
-
To be a
recruit you must first read these rules and determine if you agree with
them. If you do not agree it is not necessary for you to proceed any
further.
-
Once a
request is received a special post will be made in our team-only section of
the forums. At this time members will want to meet with you on our teamspeak
server, in the forums, and in game. This will allow them to get to know you
and decide if you are RDS material. The more you are available, the quicker
the process will be. The process usually takes about a week.
-
To be
considered for membership you cannot be a member of another clan, tribe or
team that participates in any game in which RDS is competitive, most leagues
do not allow you to compete on more than one team and will penalize us as
well as you.
Requirements of membership:
- The Royal Dragoons
participate in a variety of games and you must have a connection and
computer capable of playing the game in which you wish to participate with
RDS. This does not mean you need a broadband connection but does mean if you
are a modem user you need a stable connection, its no fun to wait for
someone to reconnect every 5 minutes.
- You must install Teamspeak. Teamspeak is the voice
communication software used by RDS. You will at a minimum need a set of
speakers or headphones. A headset with a microphone is preferred. A
microphone is required if you wish to speak otherwise you will be in a
listen-only mode.
- You must have an account on our forums. Register
here. You will also need a email
account with RDS. Request it here.
- You must have a legal copy of the game you are
participating in with RDS, and it must be a unique account that you do not
share with anyone else. This does not mean that if you share a computer with
a sibling that you cannot play with RDS. It just means that you will need to
maintain a separate account. This is true for the forums and email as well.
- Generally speaking RDS does not accept any members
under the age of 15, however this may be over looked depending on the
actions of the individual. Generally we won't ask unless you are acting in a
manner that would indicate you are of a young age.
- No cheating. This means exactly that. No cheating. The
use of scripts that provide an advantage over everyone else or the
exploitation of game bugs are just a few examples. There may also be a list
of scripts that are banned in competitive play for the game you are playing.
RDS bans the use of those scripts as well. The installation of anti-cheat
software may be required. This will vary depending on the game and the
organization with which we compete. Cheaters will be removed from the roster
immediately. No excuses will be accepted.
General Rules:
- Respect: This means
showing respect toward fellow members, guests on our servers and forums, as
well as other teams we may compete against. We take this seriously. Unless
you wished to be removed from the roster we suggest you do the same. This
means no offensive language, no team stacking, abuse of admin powers, name
calling, etc. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Use good judgment.
Banter among teammates is not only accepted but encouraged. Be careful that
you know that your teammate understand that it is only banter.
- Sportsmanship: This
is a must. Do not stack teams (never switch from the losing side to the
winning side - this only makes things worse). Do not chide the opposition
because they are losing. Remember to
occasionally throw out a compliment ("Good game", "Nice shot", etc.)
- Loyalty: "A feeling
or attitude of devoted attachment and affection." This should be
self-explanatory, but in general it means you should not attempt to promote
other groups (teams) or sites above our own. If someone asks you about
joining a clan, tribe. or team and asks where to go, you should send them to
our site. If they are asking for a list of teams, give them something like
Clanbase. This also means playing on our servers. If no one is on our
servers when you login, join anyway and give it a few minutes to see if
others come (no one wants to be the first player on). This also applies when
you pub. Respect the rules of the server you are on and the people on them
the same as if you were on our server. Remember: you represent us. Also,
respect our servers by wearing your RDS tag while playing on them. If you
didn't want to wear the tag, you should not have joined.
Specific Rules:
- Server Admins:
Server admins should not abuse their powers.
The powers granted to them are granted to ensure that game quality remains
high on our servers. They should ensure teams do not become and remain
stacked, that no offensive language is profusely used (chat or names). They
will remove problem players only after providing a warning, unless it is a
severe offense. When they encounter players that continually create
problems, they will record what information is available (name, guid, ip)
and the problematic player will be banned from our services.
