 I have played Tribes: Ascend. If that statement doesn't make you jealous, provoke salivating, or awaken tense memories of last-minute flag captures that you can physically feel in your shoulders and mousing hand, this probably isn't going to be the article for you. Tribes is my all-time favorite game series of all time. Tribes and Tribes 2 are my number two and number three favorite games of all time. (Number one is "Tribes and Tribes 2 together".) And while I don't actually believe in ranking "best"—even "favorite" is borderline facile, ranking-wise—I've never in my life spent as much time playing and caring about a game as I have Tribes.

 Tribes 2 may seen something of a rebirth with the guys over at Tribes Next. There seems to be a variety of servers and people playing, granted it isn't up to the level a hardcore old timer would want to see but it is just getting started. Also if you happened to have left before you found out the outcome of the base vs classic debate don't worry, they are still bitchin about it :) If we see any of the old guys back here maybe we can start up again.

 Ruminants of the tribes2 Dynamix Team and a few Tribes2 fans ban together to remake the sequel we were promised with TV.

The release date is set around December 2008. The screen shots should bring back memories for any tribes fan and there will be added enhancements.

Gary Gygax, who co-created the fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons and helped start the role-playing phenomenon, died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva. He was 69.

He had been suffering from health problems for several years, including an abdominal aneurysm, said his wife, Gail Gygax.

Gygax and Dave Arneson developed Dungeons & Dragons in 1974 using medieval characters and mythical creatures. The game known for its oddly shaped dice became a hit, particularly among teenage boys, and eventually was turned into video games, books and movies.

Just wanted to say I am Back and I an flattered at how you guys have kept this going.. I would also like to thank my best friend Silver for never forgetting me altho I have been pretty much dead for so long. Shows that true friends and brothers do exhist among us all. I also see lots of names I remember still here as well. Thanks for being true brothers (and sisters) in arms . Don't wanna offend that girl that used to cover my ass when we were practicing and I wa son dial - up ;) or any of the women in that matter Ok Ok I'll shut up before I get women lining up to mortat my ass once I get the program set up on my new pc..  Microsoft's new operating system radically departs from Windows XP. The company scrapped numerous legacy systems and upgraded others with improvements in networking, security, the desktop, and the component that matters most to us - DirectX, the technology that lets games talk to the system hardware.

Windows Vista makes a clean break from DirectX 9 and earlier versions by including two versions of DirectX. Vista will come with DirectX 10 and DirectX 9.0L. Older games will function by using DirectX 9.0L, and should, in theory, work fine. Microsoft has stated that games made for Windows XP will function, but games from the days of Windows 98 and DOS probably don't have much of a chance.
